Technically in 15 minutes I finally take possession of my new apartment …. hmmm no I don’t think I am desparate enough to collect the key off the doorman at midnight and sleep on a wooden floor - I am so looking forward to the joys of my blowup bed and all the 16 boxes of goodies arriving from New Zealand that I have been promises. I know that there is some art work, and my kitchen, and my Indian rugs, oh and of course the air-bed … but can’t for the life of me think what else … well a few of my more precious books.

Anyway I just wanted to tell you that the time had come, and to say thanks to you for your kind words so far

Funny story - everyone at work to whom I mention that I will not be owning a television look at me in complete shock and horror. In the US psyche it seems impossible for my colleagues to comprehend survival without one. Hahaha it even got to the point where I was offered one free of charge if only to give them comfort that there are some things in the American culture that hold true for everyone. Alas I have disappointed them.

My apologies in advance if it is few days until I post again … I dont have internet ordered yet so likely will be a week, the long weekend is likely to rain so I wont be sitting in Bryant Park, and I dont have to be back to work until Tuesday. So I will take some pictures of the shell of the apartment so you can see what it is looking like.

Haha and in true New York style I have a dinner party to attend tomorrow night, so I went and purchased a cool Michael Kors jacket … start are you mean to go on I say (and thank god for Century 21 …)
