Wine wine wine

Ok so the first month of living in Financial District has nearly passed (only remembered when I got the rent invoice - haha feels like a lifetime already?). What fresh hell is this?

Very pretty. Here’s a wee snapshot from my apartment window - pleased to say that the neighbours are at least a bit of a distance away which is nice. The windows open, just in case I want to jump - though I do think that the elevator is far more efficient.

Just in case anyone cares - I need a break from work - drives me nuts some days. I think it is high time for a visit to New Zealand to get lots of cases of wine to have under my desk at work.

I have happily taken to drinking wine again - this comes after a one year break to drink cocktails - but sucked on one cocktail, sucked on them all. However not easy to navigate the wine stores here - at a glance the variety seems extensive, but there is also a vast quantity of crap on the shelves. I do give credit to my local wine shop NY Wine Exchange, just around the corner, whose selection seems well thought through - even impressed to see a whole floor to ceiling set of shelves dedicated to NZ and actually filled with NZ wines (unlike many places where the NZ shelves are actually a combination of NZ whites and cheap Australian reds).

Maybe I need to start an Expat community of Kiwis in NY. I think I might be the only one, but hey you only need one person to make a Fan Club.
