My search is over people, today, Sunday August 20, I re-discovered religion. I am officially born-again. Baptised in the elixir of nutty, rich, intoxicating Espresso. I seriously communed with a higher reality today, for but a moment I touched the ephemeral reality of the sacred. All served up in the Temple of Dean & Deluca (560 Broadway @ Prince). And such hedonism only cost me $3.00, delivered by a lovely young lady in her crisp white robes.

There are many, many things I am destined to burn for in the institutional realm of religion, but I will hold to the defence of the Wisdom Teacher, who said ‘eat, drink, be merry, for God has already accepted your work’(Eccl 9-17 or there-abouts, my memory eludes me). Amen, here ends the lesson. Live long and prosper.

I missed coffee altogether today. This is a fatal mistake. Despite an emergency rush to the coffee machine at 10am, is was all too late. I had not recovered until well after 3pm. What a dumb assed thing to do.

The memorable thing of the day was the Rainbow Sushi for lunch – I felt colourful, inside and out. This is the first place I have eaten where the serving size is not a small mountain of food – hip hip hooray.

To make up for a miserable day of being bled senseless yesterday by building managers, I walked home up the Hudson river and across into Christopher Street. Plenty to see – like the gigantic cruise ship rockin’ on down the river, ok and one or two eye-candy joggers (as it should be). And now taking in a mozzarella and olive oil pizza at John’s . Interesting, in Auckland I would feel a freak for typing on my laptop in a pizza place – but here, I just poke my tongue out and they look away.

Damn I can hardly wait until I get into my apartment. I just walked past it – its sitting there empty – where is the justice in that, tell me. Evidently I need to visit furniture area in Brooklyn, under the Brooklyn Bridge – that can be Saturday activity.
